MY STYLE - board 002

Yes, the move was made. Now I'm working just next to my bed... dangerous, very dangerous!
My bedroom needs a painting, hopefully will be this years in  June or so. But, apart from that and the forever-temporary-scary-wardrobe I feel pretty good in this new little corner. Although it needs a few details to make it more organized and clean. I decided to make a "My style board" to make things clear in my mind. The result is just here and now I have a shopping list. Great! I really needed a reason to go shopping/spend money. I would love to share with you the final picture but I'm just not sure if I'll be sharing before or after the paintings... let's see if the evolution deserves it. Here's the board:

LET'S PANCAKE DAY ALL DAY {continued}

At same time that, in some parts of the Earth, people are celebrating Carnival having fun on the street, wearing masks, dancing and making silly things. There are other parts  where what people want is having pancakes all day! Why?
Pancake Day also known as Shrove Tuesday is the day preceding Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Shrove Tuesday, a movable feast, is determined by Easter. It's the day for making a self-examination, considering what wrongs they need to repent. It's also the last day before the penitential season of Lent. The term Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday, referring to the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, which begins on Ash Wednesday. Eating pancakes, as tradition in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, devolved from using eggs and butter on the pancake recipe, ingredients that were forbidden during the fast. There are other traditions on this Tuesday-before-the-day-of-the-Lent but, as I can't play Carnival in my home country, Portugal, I will have my Pancake Day in the UK.

WORK-SPACE inspiration

I started Koalita Craft, few days after I knew I was expecting and few weeks later I moved from a Studio in London to a 2 bedroom plus 1 house in Kent.
When I moved, after the unpacking thing that I hate, I started planning my beautiful working-space. It had room enough to let go of having just a small corner in the living or dining area, as it was in my previous Studio-home, to plan something bigger! The "plus 1" obviously!
I felt like I was starting in big style... small (new) business ---> "big" and organized office.
Well... 2 years later, pregnant of my second daughter, I had to make a few arrangements in my office to fit a cot...
Almost three years later and I'm making arrangements again. Sharing my space with a nursery is not an option anymore. You see... there's no nursery or even an office in that "plus 1" anymore. Now, my darling "plus 1" is an all-the-time-untidy playing room with a desk near the window shouting "take me out of here!"
And my "room enough to let go of having just a small corner in the living or dining area" turned in a "let's try to find a less messy place to put your desk somewhere in the house".
Found out that, thanks to my small and forever-provisional wardrobe, there's still 1.20 meters available in my bedroom to put my desk. Definitely not the perfect solution but the only one  at the moment. I just don't want to move again, not keen on packing and unpacking again.
Things are as they are so we have to make the best of them.
Time for looking desperately for inspiration and Pinterest is the perfect and easiest tool for that. Let me show you what I found:
[ source: Pinterest ]

Two different spaces based on the same monochromatic choice that I really love.  {Left image} The green given by the fresh botanical element makes the room alive. {Right image} The deer head made with washi tape is genial.
Really like the splash of orange although it won't fit with the rest of the bedroom decor... a pity. I would be very happy with any of these desks as well.
{1st and 2nd images}Awesome wall organizers. With such a tiny space available a wall organizer like these should be a must have. {3rd image} Nice display for a inspiration board.
I chose these spaces mostly because of the feeling of "old school" that they have: Love the huge "A", the big scissors and the binder clips as picture display.
Small, white, wood and black details... as it actually would hopefully be.
And this just because it feels warm and lived!

MY STYLE! - board 001

"My style" will be around here often. It's a new "usual"  at KC's blog. It will represent and define my taste, things that I would most probably would bought or made for my home, garden, my daughters or even for me. Or even things that I have on my shopping list. Everything is allowed from books, music, jewellery, clothes, shoes, prints, furniture, decoration accessories, EVERYTHING!
This is supposed to be fun and relaxed. It is supposed to find similar tastes, or not. Maybe creating a kind of complicity between you and me. I just want to share what's under my skin and have joy doing it. Hope you enjoy seeing as much as I enjoy sharing all of these finds that I love. Feel free to leave a thought.

ALL ABOUT... A GOLDEN YEAR

This is my first inspiration board this year. As I'm getting in love for all things gold. It's a new taste that came from our last Christmas decorations and it's getting more present in the choices I make and the things I've been creating for Koalita Gifts. So here's a bit of gold for a golden year that I wish for all of you!

ALL ABOUT: MAKE ME A MAP...

Sometimes it's so difficult to find people's heart, really reach it and get inside. Maybe with a map this difficult task would be easier.
Happy Thanksgiving to all our American customers, friends, followers, readers...

ALL ABOUT... WINTER LOVE

It's getting colder day after day. I can't tell you how much I adore those Sundays at home with warm socks, a cup of tea, a good movie, me and hubby on the sofa and little Laura playing on the floor, warm blankets, pumpkin jam and homemade scones. There aren't nothing cosier than a Sunday afternoon at home with the snow falling outside. This is absolutely L O V E...
